Since retiring from the Police Service Gordon has shared his expertise with

- Developer of the Police Officer's Security Handbook and Volunteer Handbook for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games for Calgary Police Service, RCMP and civilian volunteers in French and English
- Developer of Procedures of Conduct for both civilian
and sworn police personnel,
Emergency Policy and Procedure Planner, Emergency evacuation and disaster procedures, Supervisor of Sworn and Civilian personnel - Developed over 100 policies and procedures, including
updates to existing policies
that were out of date or no longer relevant, that were incorporated into the
Calgary Police Service Administration and Policy Manual - Harassment Prevention Instructor

In civilian life Gordon has also worked as a Loss Prevention
